The children and teens of Parfums de Vie love to celebrate Christmas and we joyfully and creatively love to share the magical redemption story of God becoming flesh to live among us! Throughout Advent, the children excitedly anticipate and treasure participating in our Parfums de Vie Christmas traditions – choosing the tree, decorating our Education center, making gifts, creating our beautiful living nativity scenes and telling the powerful story of hope – that incredible truth that God physically came into the mess of our world.
The miracle of Christ being born in a manger is not just a historic event, it is the incredible reminder that God has always been at work in this world. Sometimes (often!?) we lose sight of this truth because things feel difficult, hopeless and lost. But as we come together around the manger this Christmas season to remember the miracle of Christ’s birth, we can be certain – God is bringing redemption, salvation and healing to humanity through this incomprehensible reality that He, the Creator of all things, became human. He came near, He showed us how to live, how to love, how to forgive, and how to come near to Him.
As the angel announced to the shepherds “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” Luke 2v10
